Summary - Why Choose an MPS Fixed Base Simulator?
Advantages of MPS Fixed Base Simulators.
- Training counts towards the issue of licences and ratings;
- Training costs fraction of equivalent training on a FFS;
- Training over and above the minimum requirement can be provided at significantly reduced expense to the ATO and yet quality of training is maintained or even improved.
The recent introduction of the Multi Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) has moved the emphasis of flight training away from flying aircraft, to flying simulators. This has produced added stress upon FTO and TRTO who operate Full Flight Simulators (FFS). The MPL calls for around 120 hours of simulator flight time per trainee.
The MPS FBS are offered as an intermediate or bridging device in which pilots and trainee pilots can enjoy high quality training in the same environment as that found in FFS but at a fraction of the cost.
Experience shows that it's hard for a trainee to move directly from a procedures trainer in a classroom environment to a FFS. Time is wasted whilst the trainee adjusts to his or her new environment. We believe that the trainee should be introduced to the workspace where, after all, they may spend much of their working life, as early as possible.
As you can see from the picture and video gallery on our website, the MPS FBS are designed to be standalone devices with fully enclosed 200 degree surround Level D visuals. As a result, they can be installed alongside a Full Flight Simulator but in a smaller space as they do not require area clearances to accommodate movement.
Integration of an MPS FBS into the inventory of the FTO or TRTO is a great way to provide quality training at a cost, affordable to the student and also profitable for the FTO.
